Loron Biosignatures Group

Loron group

The Loron Biosignature Group, led by Corentin Loron, studies how biosignatures, especially organic matter preserved in rocks and minerals, can be analysed to obtain the maximum of biologically useful information. Our aim is to use an integrative multi-proxy approach combining microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and chemometrics to learn how biological information is preserved on Earth and elsewhere(e.g., Mars).

We are particularly interested in developing new analytical tools to explore the signals left behind by life in the universe, including theoretical, statistical and machine learning approaches.
